Exercise for Heart Health and BLS Louisville Classes

According to the American Heart Association, heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases remain the top killer of men and women in the United States, making prevention and treatment top priority. It is heart disease that leads to life-threatening emergencies like a cardiac arrest or heart attack. It is only by keeping the heart healthy that can keep heart disease at bay.
Getting CPR trained in a certified training center can help in handling cardiac emergencies efficiently in real-life situations. If you belong to the Louisville region in Kentucky, you can sign up for a program at the AHA certified CPR Louisville. Go through the course curriculum prior to signing up for a program as there are courses for healthcare providers as well as general public. Read to know more about a ‘BLS Class Louisville’

BLS Training Classes- The first time Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Class, a.k.a. BLS Class, is geared toward training individuals currently working in healthcare or planning a career in healthcare. In the first time BLS class, students will learn adult, child, and infant CPR. Students will also be trained on the use of an automated external defibrillator, or AED. Because this CPR class is for healthcare providers, there will be added training on how to use and perform rescue breaths using a bag valve mask. This device is found in hospitals, offices, and many other healthcare facilities. The BLS class training concludes with time dedicated to learning how to rescue choking infants, children, and adults. CPR Louisville allows students plenty of hands on practice and time to master the skills of BLS for Healthcare Providers.

This CPR Class is for nurses, physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, dentists, CRNAs, paramedics, EMTs, medical technicians/assistants, dental hygienists/assistants, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing students, medical students, respiratory therapists, laboratory technicians, radiology technicians, LPNs, anesthesiologists, dietitians, and ALL healthcare and medically related fields.
The course fee is $70.

The biggest risk factors of heart disease are high cholesterol level and high blood pressure. You need to keep your risk factors in check for keeping heart disease at bay. A healthy diet and regular exercise can help you manage your risk factors.

Healthy Diet- A heart-healthy diet is full of fruits, vegetables, beans and whole grains and includes low-fat dairy, fish and nuts as part of a balanced diet. It’s important to limit intake of added sugars, salt (sodium) and bad fats (saturated and trans fats).

Exercise- Physical activity on a daily basis is important for both adults and children.
        I.            Children and adolescents should get 60 minutes or more of physical activity daily.
II.            Optimum exercise levels for adults includes:
a.      150 minutes of moderate-intensity or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise (or a combination of the two) each week.
b.      Activity spread across the week with periods of aerobic exercise of at least 10 minutes at a time.
c.       Muscle strengthening activities 2 or more days a week.
So, eat well and stay fit and ensure a long shelf life by keeping your heart healthy.
