Everything you Need to Know about BLS and CPR Classes in Louisville, KY

BLS (Basic Life Support) is Professional Level CPR which is used for victims of life-threatening illnesses until more advanced professional medical care arrives. It can be provided by trained medical personnel including emergency medical technicians, paramedics and also by qualified bystanders.
The CPR techniques comprise of chest compressions and rescue breaths and proper application of the procedures can revive the life of a victim involved in a cardiac emergency. There are different types of CPR courses: some designed for healthcare providers and some for the general public. Today, we will focus on a BLS class Louisville.

BLS Training Classes:
1.      This American Heart Association CPR class is required for healthcare providers working in hospitals, private practices, dental facilities, and enrolled in healthcare and medically related college programs. BLS certification may also be required by other employers not mentioned.
2.      This CPR Class is for nurses, physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, dentists, CRNAs, paramedics, EMTs, medical technicians/assistants, dental hygienists/assistants, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing students, medical students, respiratory therapists, laboratory technicians, radiology technicians, LPNs, anesthesiologists, dietitians, and ALL healthcare and medically related fields.

3.      The first time Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Class, a.k.a. BLS Class, is geared toward training individuals currently working in healthcare or planning a career in healthcare. In the first time BLS class, students will learn adult, child, and infant CPR. Students will also be trained on the use of an automated external defibrillator, or AED. Because this CPR class is for healthcare providers, there will be added training on how to use and preform rescue breaths using a bag valve mask. This device is found in hospitals, offices, and many other healthcare facilities. The BLS class training concludes with time dedicated to learning how to rescue choking infants, children, and adults. CPR Louisville allows students plenty of hands on practice and time to master the skills of BLS for Healthcare Providers.

The program fee is $70.
Basic Life Support is used to maintain CABs which stands for Circulation, Airway and Breathing with or without use of an AED device. The BLS techniques can be used to support victims who appear to be choking, drowning, unconscious or suffering from a cardiac arrest. BLS consists of a few medical procedures which are provided to patients with life threatening conditions of the body that cause pain or dysfunction to the person. Administering the BLS techniques properly can help to establish and maintain an open airway in order to restore breathing and correct respiratory acidosis (a situation where the levels of carbon dioxide are higher than that of oxygen). All of this highlights the fact that knowledge in proper steps for providing BLS could mean the difference between life and death for a victim. A training in the hands of certified instructors will make you well-prepared to cope with any life-threatening situation that require Basic Life Support.
