Ischemic
heart disease which is also known as the coronary artery disease affects the
provision of blood to the heart. Heart is a very important organ which is
responsible for pumping supplies of oxygenated blood throughout the body
including the vital organs such as the kidneys and the brain. Any defect in the
heart can affect this supply thus leading to a death of tissue. Having a heart
disease increases the risk for someone in getting a cardiac arrest or heart
attack. It is important for every individual to remain prepared to deal with
such emergencies. Healthcare providers should go for an ACLS class Louisville which is an advanced CPR program. There are
CPR courses for the general public as well which means people with no medical
background should also undergo training in the techniques.
It is only
proper application of the resuscitation techniques comprising of chest
compressions and rescue breaths which can revive the life of a victim involved
in the middle of a cardiac emergency. If you are a resident of the Louisville
region in Kentucky, you can enroll for a program at the AHA accredited CPR
Louisville where certified instructors conduct the classes in a fun and lively
atmosphere.

Ischemic Heart Disease:
·
During
ischemic heart disease, the blood vessel become narrow or even blocked because
of the deposition of the cholesterol plaques on the walls of the vessels which
results in a reduction in the vital supply of nutrients and oxygen to the heart
eventually resulting in a sudden deprivation of blood supply to the heart
leading to death in that part thus causing a Myocardial Infarction or a heart
attack.
·
Some
of the risk factors behind the development of ischemic heart disease are
smoking, diabetes mellitus and high cholesterol levels. Elevated blood levels
of cholesterol heighten the risk as well as genetic and hereditary factors.
Stress is another factor.
·
Men
are more likely to develop ischemic heart disease although post-menopause women
become as much susceptible.
·
The
first common sign of Ischemic heart disease is severe chest pain of MI which
may or may not be fatal. It is in the form of Angina Pectoris. When an
individual experiences Angina, it is a pain that is in the center of the chest
and spreads down to the left arm, back or jaw. It is typically triggered by
exercise and relieved by rest.
·
Some
of the treatments might include drug therapy with Nitrates and is very
effective in relieving pain.
·
Few
ways to prevent Ischemic heart disease are: one must have regular exercise, eat
a healthy diet and one must keep away from stress. One should also avoid
saturated fats which will reduce lipid levels in the blood and also prevents arteriosclerosis.
