There are a
number of reasons why people suffer chest pain. Any chest pain that lasts for
more than 15 minutes should be considered as serious. A heart attack – also known as a
myocardial infarction (MI) or by the term coronary thrombosis – is one of the
most serious heart conditions. A heart attack occurs when one of the main blood
vessels that run around the outside of the heart to supply the heart muscle
with blood is blocked. The main symptom is chest pain. The severity of the
attack depends on the location of the blockage. Blockage of a major blood
vessel can lead to the heart stopping (cardiac arrest). In such a scenario, a
person will require administration of the life-saving CPR techniques.
The
techniques comprise chest compressions and rescue breaths and proper
application of the procedures can restore the life of such a victim. For
training, always select an accredited training center such as the AHA
accredited CPR Louisville in Kentucky. Certified instructors conduct the
classes through a series of audio and video lectures and hands-on practice.
